Hey, you've reached emberfans
, the first and only community for fans of The Books of Ember (by Jeanne DuPrau), the film adaptation City of Ember
, and its possible sequels! Here's the rundown:
These books (and the film) have literally no online fanbase. Have you read the books? Do you want a place to talk about the books/film(s?) and talk to other fans? Do you have some extra time to read a new book (and if so, why not read The Books of Ember)? Did you randomly pick up one of the books at a bookstore or library? Did a friend or family member recommend the books to you? Did you see the movie recently, and can't wait to talk about it?
If you said yes to any of the above, then this community is for you!
Now, for a few rules. This is a friendly place, so there won't be many.
1. No hate, flaming, drama, or trolling. Treat everyone with equal respect, regardless of age, race, gender, religion or interests. There are plenty of communities that bring the hate and arguments; this is not
one of them.
2. Once you've joined, you might consider making an introduction post. We're not going to invade your privacy and ask for your A/S/L or anything weird. It'd just be to stimulate community and dialogue related to the books. :)
3. Use an LJ-cut for images larger than 200x200 pixels, or, for large blocks of text, and if you're posting more than 3 icons. GRAPHICS ARE WELCOMED AND ENCOURAGED, PEEPS! So are work of fanart, fanfiction, etc. Don't know what an LJ-cut is/how to use one? Click here
4. Have fun! That's what fandom is about: to get together and talk about the books, films, shows, whatever it is you love. And that's why this community is here. That's it — no more rules!
Finally, the affiliates. If you have a community, about books or kid's books or another kid's book series or a book series in general or the actors in the film, WHATEVER, and you'd like to be added, comment! And we'll be besties. Affiliates are encouraged.
That's all! If you have any questions I didn't address, feel free to leave a comment. Rules content by iamshunpike
